About

Matt Brodie is a cinematographer and video editor with a BA in Film Production from Emerson College. He began his career in Los Angeles, gaining valuable experience across commercial, branded, and narrative content before returning to the New York area, where he has deep roots and is now based.

His introduction to the field started at a young age, when his father—a longtime editor for 60 Minutes—began teaching him the fundamentals of editing. That early mentorship sparked a lasting passion for visual storytelling and laid the foundation for a versatile career behind the camera and in the editing suite.

He has contributed to projects for major brands such as Mercedes-Benz, the NBA, and Wyndham, often collaborating with agencies and production companies to bring high-quality content to life. In addition to commercial and branded media, he has partnered with a range of nonprofits and cause-driven organizations, helping to tell stories that promote community and social impact. His narrative work has also been featured at the Cannes Short Film Corner and has received numerous festival accolades.

His equipment experience is extensive, covering everything from large cinema rigs to event and live-streaming setups, but currently owns a RED Komodo-X and a Sony FX3. He regularly works with other RED, Canon, and Sony packages, as well as on occasional Arri or Blackmagic projects.

As an editor he works primarily in DaVinci Resolve, but also regularly utilizes Premiere Pro and After Effects for clients needing that workflow. For a detailed equipment list including cameras, lighting, sound, and editing please visit the Equipment page.
